A Rose and the heartA Poem by ronA
Rose and the heart
In
the winter of love all the pain crushes me.
When
the night is so lonely and the road is too long, love
visits me in midnight's glow.
How
can I not want to sleep and dream of you, for
in my dreams you love only me.
Afraid
of what you will say to me in my dreams, afraid
to wake.
Afraid
to know the truth.
So
in my dreams you kiss me so tenderly, you
hold me tightly.
But
when I wake, I
know you are gone until, until
I dream again.
My
heart is lost to the waking world, for
it lies in the dreams I have of you.
Dreams
that are not real.
Love
is only for those who deserve it, and
I never deserved love.
I
drown in memories of love, given
to another.
And
so I dream each night, searching
for you, searching
for a love only found in my dreams.
So
the rose is planted.
