One summers night and the dance

One summers night and the dance

A Poem by ron

One summers night and the dance

As the sunsets off in the horizon,

I feel my heart searching for your love.

I could feel every breath,

every heartbeat of a love lost to time.

But in the sunset I found memories,

that gently tugged at my heart strings.

How the dance took us to the hotel room,

where we made sweet love until the mornings light.

As I woke and reached for you,

I found the sheets still warm from your body,

your scent on the pillow,

and a note with a lock of your hair.

“Thank you for the dreams”

sealed with a kiss.

They can drift into our lives, and then they disappear, leaving behind a warmth, maybe the faintest scent, and our memories and our longing.
Well done Ron.
