Would you touch my heart?

Would you touch my heart?

A Poem by ron

Would you touch my heart?

If I showed you that it beat,

would you kiss my heart?

If I let you feel it,

would you make the pain go away?

Could you be the one to mend the pain,

and make me forget how feelings can cut so deep?

I have forgotten how to love,

forgotten what to feel,

shut love into a box and thrown away the key.

My body is numb,

in the darkness I have lived.

It’s better to be cold and lonely,

than to wake up each morning and relive the pain that has burned my passion to ashes,

and fed on my soul.

I have no more strength to carry on,

most nights I melt into my soulless passion.

My darkness may be cold,

but it never cuts my heart.

It will never take away the promises it made.

Very touching poem. We all need that one person that can touch or hearts and make the pain go away bring in some good feelings and hope. Very good job. :)
