Into this night of secretsA Poem by ronInto
this night of secrets
Whisper
your secrets into my ear. Tell
me your secrets.
You
don’t have to tell me right now, we
each have secrets we keep close to the breast.
In
the moonlight I will confess all of who I am, and
in the shadows my breath will forsake me.
Stand
tall and ride straight. This
day is yours to take. Courage
on the ranks, courage
for the ones who are not here.
This
is the day you take what is yours, and
what is the birthright of the ones who could not.
Ride
true and strong, ride
for what is right, ride
into the mouth of death, ride
and embrace the future before you.
For
it is not the victory of the wicked that will take this day, it
is the victory of those who are righteous that will win the battle this day.
Many
a brother and sister will fall this day, many
will be given up for what is right.
Let
this day be the shining light that makes their sacrifice worth their blood. Let
the innocent see what roads heroes have laid.
Charge
into the valley of death with honor and bravery, charge
so no others will follow. Charge
for what is right and true.
Charge
for those who could not.
Let
lances strike, let
swords draw blood, let
shields break, and
horses ride true.
Let
the honor of man be the shining light for all others to follow.
Ride
for what is right, ride
for glory and honor, ride
for truth.
Take
this day, and
make it yours.
Take
this day so others will breath in the honor, of
the ones who gave their life so you can be free.
FEAR
NO DARKNESS.
For
you are what is true and good.
You
are the bravest person I know, because
in fear you held true to your belief, and
your honor. © 2014 ronAuthor's Note
