For those who served

 

 

 

Men and woman who give there all.

 

This song is for all who serve,

men and woman all.

 

You gave your life to protect us,

in the shadows of things never spoken.

 

Back at home, loved ones wait,

they wait without word.

 

In the fray you fight,

sit and wait.

 

No one knows what you have given up,

seeing your fellow soldiers give the ultimate sacrifice.

 

But continue on you must.

 

The medals and awards mean little compared to what you have given,

but a grateful Nation will hold you in the bosom of her love.

 

You are not forgotten,

nor will those who served leave you alone.

 

I for one make you this promise…

if you ever need anything,

just call and I will do what I can,

I have not much,

but what is mine is yours.
