Things we are notA Poem by ronThings
we are not
I
never knew what life could be, I
never knew what a star could show me in the moonlight of my life...
(20
count)
NOW
count what we have in our life. Ask
not what the next one can do for you, but
what we could do for the others. (OK
I took poetic license from JFK).
Sit
here with me and ask what you see in your heart, is
it…what you really wanted out of life?
Take
my hand and let’s shoot to the stars, the
stars, stars.
Oh…
let’s take a comet by the tail, and
run with our heart beats.
Your
eyes… moon
dust on a full moon.
Smiles… count
what others can’t feel.
My
heart beat… I
hand it to you, place
it in yours and feel what I feel.
Take
the comet by the tail and let it take us, to
the end of the universe, and
beyond.
Feel
my love in the shadows of, things
never seen.
Was
it so wrong, or
felt so dirty?
Could
your heart beat with mine? Could
you feel my smile?
What
of life lost in the comets tail? Or
is it bigger than we are?
Could
your dreams be better than our hearts on a comets tail, shooting
to the edge of the universe.
OR
IS THIS, just
the beginning?
