To all the women of Writers Cafe. Thank you.

To the Women of WC

 

 

You have given us so much,

we (the men of WC) shall never forget the words,

that you have so graciously given us.

 

You have made us cry,

laugh,

and sigh.

 

You have heated us in ways,

only a poem could explain.

 

You have given us more in your words,

then life could ever show us.

 

In dreams you have visited us,

by the misty shores you took our hands,

and caressed our passions.

 

You have captured our hearts,

and soothed our souls.

 

We the men of WC could never in a million years,

thank you for this journey you have taken us on.

 

You have raised us up,

to be more than we could ever be.

 

You…the women of WC,

have allowed us to stand high and proud,

to be able to bear any storm,

that life could throw at us.

 

You the women of WC,

are the shining example of what love and passion is.

 

You the women of WC,

are a gift sent down from the Heavens,

and escorted by Angels.

Actually, though I know it was meant for this forum, if you remove the WC references, this would be an amazing poem in tribute to every woman. It could stand as an evocative modern interpretation of (NIV) Proverbs 31:10-15 10 "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls."

Thank you, and I know where you are coming from and I would normally agree with you and I do appreciate your suggestion and it is so very wonderful that you have sited the bible.
But my experience with some women has left me with more pain and heart break then I could ever write about.
It is the Women here at Writers Cafe that have shown me more kindness then my life has seen.

I know I kissed a lot dug a lot of cesspits before I unearthed treasure when I found my treasure and husband of 23 years.

I hope you have as well. From someone who has found that, always remember: having found your soulmate doesn't mean you're done; you still have to put in the work that is relationship. It's the hardest and most rewarding work you'll ever do.

I dont think its cheesy at all. I was raised Roman Catholic but I am now Wiccan...but I still believe in God and you are right about God being a poet.
I belive that God has given us the voice of poets to touch the face and heart of those who have lost their way.
Now that has to be a poem ready to be written. I only wish I had the talent to write it.

I meant "HEAD NOD" to that (head not? What?) RC to wicca? That's an interesting progression. I live in the SW and there is a melding of Catholicism, wiccan and tribal/pueblo beliefs here. I myself was agnostic with pagan overtones, Lutheran and am now a non-denom. I still love to study mythologies/religions and other cultures. (history too. love history) Momzilla - yup platypuses or is it platypi - and my kids - God definitely has a sense of humor.
