You took your love awayA Poem by ronYou
took your love away
How
my heart breaks, could
you have laid me down lower then you have tonight?
My
heart belonged to you…so completely.
The
tears of my heart, bleed
red from the knife you thrust into it.
And
in the mornings light I see, an
empty bed where you used to lie.
Now
my mornings are a reminder, of
how you loved me; once upon a dream.
Now
I lie and look at the walls, I
walk through town and see your face in every crowd.
I
feel your touch upon my skin, your
words press against my heart.
Your
lips…never mind.
I
smile on the outside, but
deep inside you are the one I wanted to love, to
take care of, to
be there when you were happy, sad, when
you needed me the most, the
smile is just a way of keeping my pain a secret.
Now
I am just a shadow of your love, just
a note in your diary.
And
still I love you deeper than the oceans, wider
than the universe, brighter
than the brightest star, stronger
than the hurricanes that wreak havoc, on
my heart.
I
would plant a garden with your favorite flowers, and
bring to life your favorite scent.
Since
you’ve been gone… since
you’ve gone…
