I understand the poem. I was deployed often in my 15 year active. I came home from Honderas after one year. My daughter jump the safety gate and ran to me. These are the things we remember. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you Coyote. Yes those are the times that we hold dear.
This is such an emotional poem. I personally don't have a close relationship with my father and so this really hits home

Ah Ron, I can't even begin to imagine how hard this must be. I don't have kids, myself, but the thought of not having a close relationship with them kills me just thinking about it. I hope all works out with you and your daughter. You can message me any time if you need to talk... I think you can message on here, am I right?

Thank you Kayleigh. You are very kind to offer, and I just might :)
Thank you again.
This is very sad Red.It is heartbreaking when a relationship deteriorates and more so when it is a child or parent or family. But sometimes even when you think it can't be fixed you must still keep trying.A very heart wrenching write Red :)
Than k you Noel. :( I fear words will not be enough.
