Man lost to his own imagination

Man lost to his own imagination

A Poem by ron

Man lost to his own imagination

There once was a man,

as proud as he could be.

You see he had the biggest thing,

anyone had ever seen.

He walked proudly down the street,

he knew his was the best.

Then it happened,

quite unexpectedly...

(the truth will tell the rest).

From a distance he had spied her,

he knew she would have to have him.

If only she could see,

what he was so very proud of.

So he ran after her,

intent on catching his prey.

Then it happened,

in a flash...it was over before he started.

He woke up in the hospital,

his pride and been broken.

He looked down and asked,

“why did you do this to me”?

His pride looked up and spoke those fatal words...

“You see my dear friend,

you over looked one simple fact,

your imagination was what you tripped over”.

I try :)..
Wow, I never expected that ending. It all seem so perfect and right - I thought he was going to get his girl! This is powerful, sometimes we don't always get what we want and we need to realise that, it makes it a teeny tiny bit easier if it happens.
