Your scent filled the air,

like a faint hint of something new.

 

Through tear filled eyes,

I could see you standing just out of reach.

 

A million times I dreamed of this moment.

A million dreams just out of reach.

 

My heart beats faster,

as you come closer.

 

My breath warm on the sheets,

begging in the darkness.

 

I dare not reach out to touch you,

each time you faded like the mist.

 

Tears run down my cheeks and into my heart,

the scent of you in my mind.

 

Your movement etched,

in my memory.

 

You come close to kiss me,

I close my eyes...

 

How sweet the mist tastes.
