The night we metA Poem by ronThe night we met
I don’t remember what the night looked like, nor if it was chilly or warm.
I can’t remember what the others were doing, or who was with whom.
I just remember the small things, that were the biggest my life has explored.
The look in your eyes as the soft light made them glow. How your mouth curled into a smile as you spoke. How your hands delicately tugged at a loose strand of your hair. How you blushed softly when you allowed me to hold your hand.
So many small things that night, visit my dreams every night.
The smell of Jasmine in your hair. How the light reflected softly along the edge of your ear.
How your neck became more subtle as you allowed me permission to look. The beat of your heart through your shirt, (I am sorry but I could not help but look).
You forgave my awkwardness, how I stumbled for every word.
You made me feel safe in a night I will never forget. You might not remember.
But I visit it in my dreams every night, so I can love you again and again. © 2014 ronReviews
