The slow danceA Poem by ronThe slow dance
They met on the dance floor, never asking the others name.
They were drawn to each other, by a mutual desire.
Silently their finger intertwined, their hearts beat like the rushing of a wild river.
Could you smell Jasmine or honeysuckle in the air? Could you feel them floating.
Not a word was spoken between the two, who needs words when their bodies spoke volumes.
Silently they danced as if the night would last forever, and in their hearts, the memory of tonight will.
Lips brushed as breathless sighs took hold. Fingers reached to feel.
They glided across the floor like two Angels in a slow whirl wind of bliss. The moon was their only light, how full it seemed that night.
Her gown flowed like feathers in the soft wind. His uniform crisp, but did not faultier.
The birds sang a waltz, as the butterflies danced above them to make two halos.
The night stood still, mesmerized by their love. How could the moon ever give way to sunrise at this moment?
The wind brushed her hair, his eyes sparkled with her reflection.
They danced all night, they danced as time slowed down, only for them.
When the moon could no longer keep the sunrise from coming, the mist floated in and carried them away.
On a moonlight night as the Jasmine and honeysuckle fill the air, you will see them... dancing slowly in the mist. © 2014 ronReviews
