Masks in Monochromatic Shades

Masks in Monochromatic Shades

Masks hiding monochromatic shades of life.

Dance the music in gaudy costumes as wooden floors echo each sound.

Covered in fake shimmering glass,

lace along the edges showing empty class.

No face will be exposed as we hold our masks close,

hidden behind the Masquerades of our life.

Haunting string quartets make us act like puppets on stage.

Dance you will, until the sun comes up.

Full moon hidden behind stormy clouds.

Meet a stranger, dance all night, you might have known them in a former life,

but tonight we dance in monochromatic shades of our life.

Dare not lower your mask, lest the rest of the Ball discover who you are.

Puppets at this masquerade, splashed in shades of monochromatic hues of our life.

Woah, you just knocked the breath right out me, dude. This was an amazing poem. I loved it to pieced. We do tend to hide behind masks and no one really knows the real me or you... How do we know if what we are saying is true? I like it Ron.

Thank you so much. You are truly one of a kind.
Ohhhhh Nice!...
This has an element of mystery, I find enthralling...

We tend to hide behind luxurious masks and silkened threads, or paint our faces with makeup to cover what is truly underneath...

This gives the reader a peek of what allures us...
Nicely done!~xoxo~

Thank you Robbie. xoxo
I think that we all wear masks and hide behind the safety of being hidden.Afraid that if just once we let it slip then the reality of what we think is not worth being seen will be seen and we will be condemned for who we really are .
