13 days of gloryA Poem by ron13 days of glory
Let it be the shining light, let it be the standard we live by.
The 185 died for freedom by the sword and cannon ball, what will you live for?
Will you let others tell its story, or will you carry the banner and continue its truth.
Freedom will always try to be taken and crushed, by oppressors.
Will you bow to them, just for a few coins, or hectors of land?
Will you allow them to reap what freedom is, just to tear it down? ... ... ... ... ... ...
A time for courting freedom has not passed, fight for it, fight for it’s love affair with life. ... ... ...
The wagons faded off in the distance, laden with love ones, those who stayed knew they would never see then again
Those who stayed, stood proud and strong, tears feel along their cheeks, but they never flinched nor wavered.
They knew they would die in that mission, they knew that freedoms watch was theirs.
A freedom for their families and loved ones, freedom for all man kind was theirs to be held.
Will you let the siege be forsaken?
