I melt as you escort me through your imagination.

Your fingers caressing my heart.

 

Could you be more perfect?

Could I be more safe in your love?

 

You mend me when I am broken,

you kiss away my fears.

 

I am but a shadow of who you deserve.

Your heart beats strong as mine falls apart.

 

I am just a shell of who you need me to be.

Yet you are still here, mending my broken heart.

 

Hold me in your arms, please don’t let me fall.

My scars have names I will never speak of.

 

But for now I am safe...

I have experienced being so caught in someone's mind that it becomes enchanting and pleasing all at once, though the reality of it may be questionable. To know someone intimately means knowing their heart and mind, and dwelling there for long enough to love and be loved. It seems that in this poem, you don't realize how much you are to the person whose mind you are safe in and only see the "shell of who you need me to be." Just in realizing that you love that person's mind gives enough credence to who you are to that person... in my opinion anyway.
