I paid my heart away

I paid my heart away

A Poem by ron

I paid my heart away

As love and I met on a cold dark night,

We shared a lover’s embrace.

We kissed and cooed the night away,

How warm it made our hearts.

We shared more than morsels,

We feasted on passion.

We dined on the dessert of our needs.

We drank in the others scent, to quench the thirst.

The cold dark night.., the cold dark night.

How it tears at my soul.

For after the sun came up,

You stole my heart in your purse.

Thank you Sye. You are far to kind.
Beautiful and bittersweet... I love the repetition of the line the cold dark night - it is very effective and the flow of your words is silky smooth. Beautiful, beautiful poetry.

It's well expressed, my friend... xx :)
Beautiful poem, Ron. I especially enjoy the way love is personified and the repetition of "the cold dark night... the cold dark night."

Thank you Karen.
I never meant to steel your heart
your passion was much to much

I feasted on you and I didn't feel worthy
Your soul much to pure

For the dirty w***e I was
Forget me now I am no more

I give you up for someone better
She'll love you more then I

She'll give you ties that bind
You soul to hers

She'll be everything you need
She'll be better then me

She'll love you passionately
She'll be everything you need her to be

She'll come and free your mind of me
She'll be everything love is meant to be

Okay I had to respond to your poem, it just told me too. I'm nothing if not obedient. and it was too sad had to give it some hope.

Bittersweet surprise love - not exactly a club to the head (see my naked feet for explanation therein) but a thief - clever and sexy.
