Feelings

Feelings

 

Feelings held in stark contrast to what I feel in real life.

I write who I am and what I really feel.

 

To find the person I can share it all with.

That is the controversy of who I am.

 

You can read me in all my writings.

 

But to be this person in real life…

That is the hardest thing to do.

 

I am not brave in this respect.

I would go on the battlefield than face who I really am.

 

Please do not hate me,

I am a coward in love.

I think many poets can identify with what you have written here, Ron. In poetry, all things are possible. All relationships can spark and then thrive. In real life though, there is always the fear we will not be accepted for who we really are. A lot has to do with self-esteem. I think every writer feels this way, I certainly do. We write what we feel, but find it difficult showing our emotions in real life. Good job Ron
