Feelings

Feelings

 

Feelings held in stark contrast to what I feel in real life.

I write who I am and what I really feel.

 

To find the person I can share it all with.

That is the controversy of who I am.

 

You can read me in all my writings.

 

But to be this person in real life…

That is the hardest thing to do.

 

I am not brave in this respect.

I would go on the battlefield than face who I really am.

 

Please do not hate me,

I am a coward in love.

Love can be a scary thing, because with love we also feel pain and loss. I think many of us are cowards when it comes to love. The heart is a fragile thing that needs love care and protection. xo Winter

A really nice write and as the title says, this poem indeed has a lot of emotions but it is relatable. I like how truthful this is.

Words reveal us poets more than we really divulge, especially your words because they reveal so much of your inner self than if I called you up right now and interviewed (interrogated?) you. I'm more likely to tell you who I am and what I'm experiencing in my writing than tell you the same things in person. Face-to-face is so much more intimidating, and I can confess the worst of sins without admitting to anything. Words are so powerful, and that does not make you a coward, but a creator choosing a more permanent means of expression that spoken words lost in the wind.

You said it to well here Karen. I think if two people feel strongly enough and are not afraid to express them self's these words can be said.

Sometimes, though, the words are all we have, and the mere act of being with people in person becomes awkward and uncomfortable. But that may not be for all poets...

Very true. But when we do meet the one we can be completely open with we can tell them our deepest feelings, needs, and desires.

I completely agree -- it's so much easier to express ourselves in writing, we can be whomever we want to be, we can be ourselves without fear or embarrassment!

I agree. In all my writings I have tried to expose who I am...even more than I would have done in real life.

Oh so beautifully tragic. I am quite the romantic myself, so i really enjoyed this piece! i especially liked the part where you said:
