Lights warmth never felt

Lights warmth never felt

A Poem by ron

Lights warmth never felt

Light shines in through cracks patched over time.

Fractures that will not stay sealed.

Memories haunt my dreams,

They call to me in the waking light.

I walk the edge of the lake to feel,

The waters lap at the shores edge where scars never heal.

Night after night, I walk the path that leads to the light;

A light that never touches my soul.

I reach out my fingers to touch the light, to feels its warmth.

The warmth I am never touch again.

A weary smile crosses my lips; I turn to walk back.

Though I may not touch the warmth, at least I am allowed to see it.
