Under the bridge

Under the bridge

A Poem by ron

Under the bridge

Walking along the river,

I reach for your hand.

Would she let me, could I be so bold,

As to hope, she would let me?

Ever so slowly, my fingers found your hand.

You jerked just a little and I pulled mine away.

We continued to talk as the water rushed by.

I felt so stupid for being so bold.

We found our favorite coffee shop,

And went in to get warm.

I ordered the usual,

And helped you out of your coat.

When the waiter came with our hot cups of coffee,

You gently blew the steam as if sending me a kiss.

My heart beat and leapt, as if doing tricks,

I blushed behind my hot cup of coffee.

We finished the coffee and I helped you into your coat,

We continued to walk along the river’s edge.

You stopped under the bridge and turned to face me,

You blushed as you reached up to kiss me.

Awe, it looks like she wanted to make the first move and play a little hard to get. Lovely poem. xo Winter

Thank you Winter, I didn't know she was going to do that until she did.
Your words express such tenderness and respect and I like the way you describe your actions, and surroundings, and how you felt. You wrap it all up with a lovely ending!
