A single Blue RoseA Poem by ronA single Blue Rose
When the evening falls to the mists of dreams gone by, I have been waiting in the moonlight at the lakes edge.
I have waited each night holding a single blue glowing rose, Hoping you will show and see how its glow has dimmed over time.
Its petals fall one by one and wither on the ground, Its glow shines less and less each night you are not there.
My eyes close as the last petal falls; the glow finally dies. In despair, I fall to my knees and reach for the petal.
My fingers press against the last petal as a single tear falls.
The stem leaves my hand floating in the air and starts to glow dimly. The rose blooms as its glow shines brighter.
Warmth fills the air as you reach down to help me up. You wipe away my tears with the rose, and press your lips to mine.
Your soft words reach my ears…
