A million dreams away

A million dreams away

A Poem by ron

A million dreams away

A million dreams away, I lie here wishing you would visit.

I sit on the shores of my dreams hoping you would see.

See the torn and tattered soul that once held your love so close.

The skin that once was mine is now an empty coat.

The box that held my love for you is shattered to a million pieces.

I try to put them together every night in my dreams.

My tears are blood red for the pain I hold in side.

My eyes are have lost their color, they do not need see anymore.

I am nothing in this dream of mine.

You use to visit…

Such a sense of longing in this piece. It can be read as a lost love, or as missing a loved one who has passed away... this poem resonates, with vivid and apt images. Truly poetic, Ron.

Thank you Rita.
It is sad when we most share a dream "alone" when it was once shared with one we cared for.....It's a very lonely place to be!! I can really relate to the line: The box that held my love for you is shattered to a million pieces." - a very vivid thought!
