Taken for a prizeA Poem by ronTaken for a prize
The walls have been breached. The defenses are down.
I stand in the courtyard ready for the final blow. Death will take me as I raise my sword.
Looking in the eyes of evil I steady myself. Taken now, when the moon is at its fullest.
The strike comes fast. Cutting deeper than I could ever feel.
It’s blade I have felt before. It drips with my soul.
Taken as I realize it was love that took its prize. My soul hangs at its tip.
Now I lie never to wake again. © 2013 ronReviews
