No more left

No more left

A Poem by ron

No more left

When all the leaves have fallen, only the branches remain.

The bark is bare against the ravages of emotion.

They tear at what is left, leaving scars that never heal.

When will the springtime come?

Am I the lone soul that is left to protect the dead fields?

Will the winds blow through me?

No birds come to nest in my branches any more.

The pain is too long with time.

Weathered marks fade.

No leaves grow to hide me from my-self.
