The garden of Love

The garden of Love

A Poem by ron

The garden of Love

I have walked in the garden of love.

I have felt the cut from the thorns.

I have smelled its flowers.

I have tasted its scent.

I have planted flowers that have bloomed.

And watched as other have pick its petals.

I have touched petals as soft as silken feathers.

Their scent filled my heart and made me a king above men.

But the one I keep planting never will grow again.

Roses smell sweet
alas, all have thorns
but if the rose
won't give you a whiff
I say give your affection
to a more willing tulip.

The character in the poem talks about experiences in the love field, says has invested time to give self confidence to women and has watched others complimenting them and admiring them and that he has been with women he thought were unreachable leaving others behind that have not tried and that no matter how much he tries he will not fall in love again like the first time because he has experienced the field, something like that.

So precious! This beautiful poem intricately describes the meaning of love in only five short stanzas. The only advice i have for you is to pluralize the words, "other" and "pick, otherwise i thought you did a fantastic job! :)

Thank you. That means a lot to me.
Good metaphor here, Ron. Beautiful and sensual images of love. Sort of a poignant ending for the poem though......and I am not commenting on the sensual connotation in THAT line! :) Lydi**
