What if

What if

A Poem by ron

What if

What if we never met?

What if we never got the chance to say hello?

Would I be the whole in your life?

Or would I be the whole in your life?

I don’t know why we met.

I don’t know why we should care.

You push me back and all I want to do is get to know…

The you.

Ah, such questions, boggles more of the heart, than the mind. "What if?" indeed.
One either pushes the other away because they no longer feel the same way
(if they ever did in the first place) about the other person anymore
(Sorry, i'm pretty cynical about this subject matter.)

Or, yes, to get more breathing room, feeling suffocated, gain space, think, live,
realize they're perhaps too emotionally co-dependent on the other person?
just that some people's
feelings can tend to constantly change towards each other.

The questioning verses in this poem, makes this all the more poignant, leaving one's
heart with lingering questions. I really enjoyed this poem, great job :)

I don't like 'what-if's'. I think I always prefer to find out.
An interesting write, Ron.

'Would I be the hole in your life?
Or whole I be the whole in your life?'

Clever word play there.

"What if we never met? Would I be the whole in your llife?"
Questions that have most likely bothered men and women for ages...
"Whet if we never said hello?" then would goodbye never be an option.
Strong emotions in this one Ron. Thank you.. shallimarRose

At times in a relationship...one pushes away to have breathing room...a time to vent and assess the situation...and the other is on standby like this verse...asking the questions...
