These are not victims of a war or politics…

 

 

They were Pagans.

Ron, I find this very interesting, and the question you pose shall find the answer when mankind stops fighting about religion, as there are countless more who have died because they were not pagans. The battles between England and Scotland, within England, within Scotland and on and on because one was either Protestant, or Catholic when the monarch deemed one to be of a certain religion to be "saved". And then we have the Nazis and the persecution of the Jews. I could go on and on and I understand what you are saying. We are not safe - there shall always be killings in the name of one particular God or another.
King Henry VIII became angry at the Pope and the killings started - was that religion, or politics. The pope had Protestants killed and the King had Catholics killed..........'tis all so very unsettling!

I did not mean to say that pagans wee the only ones to suffer. I agree that many died in the name of religion for the sake of polotics. I belive we both agree on this. We should get together and ask the world to think before they perscute either by religion or polotics.

You are so right in that far too many have died in the name of "politics" - a power hungry ruler will stop at nothing to hold that power, or to gain more power - matter what the religion of the victims. We must get together as you say - no matter what the reason for the abuse!

I am sure we could have an interesting conversation about humanity and how we have failed in so many ways to make our world a better place by working harder to end war, and stop the ever intrusive political machine from ruling us as it does! Religion does not kill people kill Ron... There are also many that are killed BECAUSE of their religion.. Over six million Jews at the Holocaust during world war II, that was over two thirds the population. Ove a million of them were children...

I know religion does not kill; religion is the excuse people use for killing. I know other religions have been and still are being targeted I was just pointing out one religion. This does give me thought for a poem that would encompass all religions.

World is going crazy. In Africa and Asia is norm to kill. It seem like life is becoming worthless in some parts of our world. Use of religion, sexual preference and control is leaving us in a mournful state. It a scary world for us. What did we leave for the kids? A powerful poem. Thank you.

THANk you for your review. Yes it is a sad thing we have left our children. Life by all standards of all religions (at least I think) is something to be celibrated and not hated. I belive to many use religion for and excuse to get ride of those that dissagree with them.
