Our Sweet Life Together

Our Sweet Life Together

A Poem by ron

Our Sweet Life Together

I wish I could tell you of the ache in my heart, about how it feels heavy from the pain you have caused.

But I am not a cruel man, I know the pain you caused was not intentional on your part.

I smile and say I love you hiding my pain deep inside.

I could never let you know how I feel; it would hurt you more than you would show.

You see pain in my eyes, the pain I hold inside.

You ask if everything is fine, I say yes knowing it is a lie.

I know I hurt you deeply, you have told me again and again.

I never intended us to get this way, I am sorry for the pain.

I cannot show you this poem; it would hurt you too much.

This is not how I wanted us to be, our sweet life together…

What is left?

This is when a sweet life together is considered "bitter sweet"! You show compassion for the other, but I ask if not being totally honest is what is best for the two who are a part of this relationship. When and if she discovers the truth it will be a very big fall which could take considerable time to recover from. I would feel betrayed if one had not been honest with me.
She can see the pain, and might also not want to admit the truth.

What an emotional and thoughtful poem. It's nice to see the softer side of you.

THank you. There are many sides to me. Maybe one day I will be able to find them all.
