A place of Glory

A place of Glory

A Poem by ron

A place of Glory

Stand and fight, may the hordes come before us.

Stand a fight by my side, my dear brothers.

Let arrows fly our foes will die.

Stand before them, they shall parish this night.

Let not your courage falter this day.

Stand together and they will be lost in the fray.

Swords slash and spears break.

On ward, on ward the heroes will last.

A sword breaks another one is born.

Pick up your courage and be reborn.

Shields shattered and courage falters.

Stand with me and no one is lost in the slaughter.

Your brothers have died but not in vain.

We stand as one let the world call in pain.

Together their eyes did lock.

Mortal enemies lost in the dark.

They approached each other ready to kill.

But today, only one will stand still.

Swords drawn; the battle grew still.

To watch the two worriers who fight in hell.

They fought to death that glorious morn.

They fight to their death this very day.

And what of the ones that made not a sound?

Remember them at dawns breaking light.

They are the ones that saved us that night.

The two worriers fight in the light.

They fight for what they believe; they fight for what is their right.

In the end, only one will stand.

Who is to say what the other has done.

I lay to rest this poem of glory.

Does it ring truth for the ones of that morning?

Now the one you fear most has come to fight you in the night.

Look in his eyes you will find your strength, he is weakest in the light.

Pick up your dead for they have bled a river of red.

Bury them so that freedom can feed.

Take them to their place of glory.

Let them rest in fields of shadows and morning.

I call to them in my time of need.

They come to me to sit and think.

They have given their all.

Should we not thank them in the fall?

I personally think of 300 or Sparta when I read this.
It is so beautiful and empowering.
It also makes me think of social studies when you learn about the Roman and such.
However there is very good truth behind what your poem says...we should honor the ones who have died and shed blood.
And in today's society we are not doing a very good job at that.
I also like the story which you wrote within this poem.
Well done.

Slight few spelling errors. Remember when I told you Worriors was a word, but it's what the Wizard Of Wor says in the videogame ? :)

Other than that, you've got some amazing rhymes and meter in here. "Morning" with "Glory" is very close. War however always is, and always will be, ugly business. I hope in time there is more accounting and less bloodshed in future country disputes. :7
