Getting to know you, knowing me

Getting to know you, knowing me

Getting to know you, knowing me

The characters are alive in my mind, just not alive in real life.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if one of them tapped me on the shoulder kissed me and said “Hi.”

So for now I write them, maybe that’s as real as they will get.

I’m told it will happen (meeting the love of my life) but as of yet I have my doubts.

Who am I looking for you might ask.

Someone who understands me in ways I do not know yet.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful for even a moment; I wish.

My problem you see is that I would fall in love faster than I could catch myself.

She would have to be patient and want me, to the end.

In public, they would see us for how much love we have to share.

In the privacy of our bedroom, the place that we make love, that would have to be a place to explore each other even more.

A place to open ourselves up to experience each other’s wants, needs, desires, and dreams so intimately.

We could like different things we do not have to be the same.

But we should at least like, the same of many things.

We should be tolerant of each other’s bad day's.

In addition, love each other without judging, no matter what the day.

Let us not change each other to fit our own personal needs.

Let us agree that we can be different, and not train the other to be perfect.

So let us agree to talk and share ideas.

Get to know each other over time, and have a wonderful conversation.

I am shy at first that is just how I am.

I can open up later and you would be nicely surprised at the person inside.

If you are curious about more of me, than my writings you should explore.

For they tell a story of who I really am, and not the person that I allow others to see.

And you are…

I love this poem. You wrote it so well. And I can really relate to the fact that I live in a "world" were my characters are such a integrated part of me, that they're almost real. Our writing can really allow others to see a deeper part of us.
We can't fake who we are when we're writing, because then it just comes out false. In order to write a good piece, we have to allow ourselves to be part of the piece and the piece to become part of us. Then, we truly have put are heart into our work. And that is what the reader is able to see and feel and relate to. But that means revealing yourself for who you truly are, faults and all.
Wonderful poem and it's so nice to begin to see you for who you are, Ron. :)

Thank you sylvia. it was more than just a poem.
I am...someone who has many dreams and desires still unnoticed.. Someone who searches constantly for acceptance and love... OH did you not mean that question literally sweet Ron? I got caught up in your poem...ol

In that case I am... so happy to meet the real you Ron.. The one who is not afraid to admit he is looking for that other half he feels is missing.. That half that completes him... Your girlfriend I take it is not what you perceive as that other half.. that's a pity..but it is my belief that most never really find their soul mate if there is a thing.. and some find them too late or recognize them too late.. This is a heart to heart look at yourself Ron.. I felt it.. I feel it.. Truth...

I have to highlight this.. "Let us not change each other to fit our own personal needs. Let us agree that we can be different, and not train the other to be perfect." Wow that is saying a mouthful right there.. Love me for who I am not who you think I should be or who you can make me into.. I love the rawness of emotion in this.. xoxo Rose

You are not asking or demanding too many things for communications are important part of a relationship along with the agreeable conversations where both pledge to respect each others space and identity...Well penned...:)
