Trapped loveA Poem by ronTrapped love Your words they touched my soul, it had been forgotten long ago, tucked away like a bad memory that wanted to stay. You dragged it out making ever cut and burn alive with regret. Taking me to places promised, making me dream of something not conscious. A cloud you promised was more than it was. Butterfly kisses on a warm summer’s day. While the birds flew by sing songs of love on a soft colored sky. You took me to the meadow and promised it would be forever. Making me believe in love once again. Was this your plan to trap me in your web? Was a toy to be played with to satisfy your unfulfilled lies? Was I to be re-molded to fit yourself loathing? I try to leave but your web has trapped me. You use all you weapons to keep me in check. You use what you have because you don’t know any better. Allow me my dignity, my own self-respect. Allow me to leave you and I might be back. If you truly love me, and don’t need a pet. Than please my dear love give me back my wings. Allow me to soar and show you my gossamers flight. If you true loved me and not the pain held deep inside.
