True to our self’s

True to our self’s

What are we if not true to our self’s?

Are we nothing more the primal instincts that control our every action?

Are we to allow what we do to be dictated by those primal instincts?

If we do not try to control our destiny and actions than we are destined to become its slave, never knowing what our true potential is capable of.

But to control it is one thing. To be able to shape it to experience its full potential is a journey that can and should take a life time to experience. After all if we have decided to take on the task of shaping our own journey, than we have by choice chosen to accept all that it has to offer (good and bad).

Passion and love are words that most of us have over used to explain how we feel. It has been used to the point of tragedy.

Passion has all ways and foremost been something that goes deeper than the primal instincts. It is something that cannot be explained by a simple word or action. It has never been nor should it ever be sought after by the faint of heart.

Passion can and will tear down a person’s will. But it will take a person past the limits that anchor us to our physical bodies. If we allow ourselves to experience passion than it will catapult us far beyond expectations. It is the truest form of bliss.

Do you mean 'selves' instead of 'self's'? I like the nature of this poem, but the structure makes it seem like an excerpt from a self-help book. :P A truly good piece, I enjoyed the read. :)
