Words of a friend

A time for all to reflect on one’s life, is so much to ask for simple advice?

A gentle sigh or word of encouragement, these are the things that can shape someone’s life.

Given with love and not with malice, these things can guide us through life’s disasters.

Some people need just the ear of a friend, while others strive to have their words said again.

It is always best to listen before speaking, for the words of a friend can have profound meaning.

Give what you can but never too much, some of us need just a little nudge.

While others need the world to hear what we can’t say because of our fears.

Time to reflect not all of us do, maybe a friend will be able to get through.

When the light has gone out, of our life that once shined so beautifully bright.

It is time for that friend to say a few words, to help us get through the darkness so dim.

Take heart my dear reader you took the time to read my words one at a time.

If thoughts were made of the purest gold, you would be bathed with it, like the kingdoms of old.

This is more of a prose my friend but nevertheless so powerful and true. I agree with Keith, I loved that line too.

A prose is more of a short story, more description, it's longer.
A poem is what you do excellently well and everything is a blur ;-)
