the creepy library

A Story by Sally
"

hi everyone sorry I haven’t been posting for awhile. I’ve been rather busy. This was a story. I wrote a few days ago and want to share it with you all

"
once, long ago, in the darkest corner of the city, there was a small building that hardly anybody ever went into. It was called the creepy library and only those who were interested in the most horrifying of books and the most scariest adventures in that library ever dared to set foot near the door… one day, a little girl ran off while shopping with her mother and disappeared into the small crowd gathered by the bakery. There were special cakes on sale that day and they were very popular. the girl looked at the cakes in the window and turned disinterestedly and ran down the side road. The girls mother who had only just noticed her child was gone yelled out in alarm, "amber, come back here right now!"but Amber was so far away that she could not hear her mother calling. She paused by a sign post which read, creepy library. she paid no attention to the fact that it said, creepy library, instead of just, library she ran down the dark dingy Street in which the signpost pointed. At the end of the road, stood at tall pair of oak wooden doors which seemed to be rusting. She pushed hard against the doors thinking they would be locked but they swung open easily with a loud creaking sound, the girl who was not expecting such lightweight doors nearly fell into the room. She caught herself just in time, and just as she got clear of the doors, they slammed with an echoing bang that resonated around the room until long after the final echoing bang! Amber looked around the room with interest. She was in a large room, from floor to ceiling, shelves stood, housing hundreds of thousands of horor books. these big thick heavy volumes of horror were written and brought here to this scary library throughout the generations. Big massive leather books that have been brought here by the government deemed too horrifying that people to read. Large heavy tones brimful of black magic and horrors zombies, wolves tales that were apparently supposed to be, non-fiction. the girl walked quietly through the library, scanning the titles etched across the front of the books. Silence was defining and each step she took sounded like a thunderbolt. It was that quiet. She reached the back wall of the library large stone chair with a cushion strapped to it, stood majestic against the wall apart from the cushion the chair looked Medieval. "wow," Amber exclaimed. She picked up the nearest book, the title read. Ghosts and the secret behind them. She sat on the mediaeval throne like chair opened the stiff leatherback of the book and began to read.
meanwhile, in the marketplace with Mrs. Davidson, Amber‘s mother. as soon as the people nearest heard Mrs Davidson‘s yells, they hailed a police officer. "maam, what seems to be the problem? The citizens have reported that you were making a big ruckus a few minutes ago. May I ask why?" "my daughter! She ran away while I was picking up the block of cheese!"yowled mrs Davidson incomplete and utter distress. "maam please calm down, she can't have gone that far. Now, you claim she ran away, is there anything she is interested in or has always wanted to see?" "yeaha the creepy library," "er, then that is wear we will begin our search." The policeman would not admit it, but he and the rest of his crew were absolutely terrified of that library and had no desire whatsoever to go in there, but they had to do the job after all. The officer that had been interrogating Mrs. Davidson, by name, the way to the library accompanied by Mrs. Davidson.
back in the library with Amber, she sat there now for a nearly half an hour bent over the book she was progressing fast and enjoying it. Suddenly in the distance the doors will open and slammed again. Two people came quickly to water. was it too scary masked people here to kidnap her. a torch shone in her face. The silhouette of her mother appeared, the book was pulled from out of her hand and examined carefully as her mother pulled her to her feet and stared at her with a mixture of relief and fury. "you will never do that again child! Do you understand me?" Mrs davidavidson looked beside herself with relief despite her anger. y.y.yes mother!" "maam, please put her down." the police officer said sternly. this library will have to be closed, Mrs. Davidson thought, as she carried her daughter away.

I really hope you enjoyed this, it’s taken me nearly an hour to write this up to say it is only meant to be a short story. Next time I write, I’ll do a book so that there can be more or a chapter so that there will always be. someone waiting, wondering what will happen next.

Gripping to say the least, Sally. You started and finished smoothly and enticingly - the in-between being full of movement, thought and interest - great thought gone into each 'lure' - read twice, can't find a a gentle start to finish to display so taken quite an excerpt!

Fascinating.. Amber was one brave (or naive) young girl! Wonder what her future had in store for her. A second chapter or book, perhaps?
