I see I am a few years late coming onto this but it reminds me of many years ago, we being underaged, standing out in front of the liquor store trying to get someone to buy enough bottles of cheap wine for us all, and then afterwards, walking back through Stanley Park and across the Lions Gate bridge until we were so plastered we often didn't made it home until the next day
The good old days
Yes, I still exist. I'm having significant health problems--not Covid related--but genetic on my mom's side related to my spine and manifesting in my legs, who's use I may lose in a year or two. But I am 69. I've lived as full a life as anyone has any hope of living. So I am pretty content. My wife is not, however, as she despairs at my failing health. But we are in a good position financially. So she will be okay. And we just have to adapt into that "We're getting old" frame of mind and start to unwind. Sorry if I make this sound too dire. It's the normal case of aging. We've finally finished the complete remodel of the house. It's beautiful, and it's time to sell. It seems ironic that we finally have it the way we love it, but now we need to move on. The course of life, right? Anyway, I now hearing raccoons running across my roof and they'll soon be on my back patio to see if I forgotten to bring in the cat food for the feral cats we feed. But they're too late. The food was taken in hours ago, They can still get a good drink of clean water, however, and wash their hands like they like to do. I expect in the morning the water will be very dirty and need changing. And so it goes. Life goes on. And now, finally to your poem. This is very nice, Roland. It was greatly enjoyed. Keep writing. All my very best!

Sorry for the tardy reply, and very sorry to hear about your health challenges; however, I do believe that you know more about the universe than most, and you have been kind enough to help me understand as much as I can. For that, I am very grateful.

As a scientist I feel a great obligation to explain and spread scientific understanding everywhere and a much as I can. And I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and that the New Year will only bring health and more happiness.
Well penned. This poem is as simple as the simple things in life that you can enjoy. tyfs

Well idling and enjoying a beautiful winter view isn't time wasted in my opinion. It is time invested Roland and having the company of a bottle of vino would make it all the more enjoyable. Sometimes it is good to experience calm and quiet. Wrap up warm though to keep the cold out and the heat in. Happy New Year.

I didn't mean to suggest that I'm wasting time; under a bridge with wine is the best! I'll miss it when the bars reopen. Happy New Year to you too, Chris.
Watching the worldless world go by, observing where once there was participation and wondering more and more if the bottle is half full or half empty as your thoughts turn to " are me and the liquor store clerk the last humans?"
Perhaps a visit for another bottle will help you figure it out 😊
Ps... Perhaps 7s reviewers are a figment of your imagination Roland. I've certainly not felt real in quite a while 😊

You're assuming it's a bottle; actually it's a can.
