Juggling One Ball

Juggling One Ball

The Billiard Player's Exasperation

The spot ball

and the cue ball

fight it out on the table.

They scratch as much

as they are able.

Are they insane?

They're one and the same!

The Poet's Love Hesitation

If I don't write on love

am I still a poet?

A blossoming question.

The answer?

I don't know it.

Shakespeare, Cummings, Keats and Yeats...

I must confess

that I digress.

Anticipating a Kiss

Let us swap oral flora

by sliding out linguals together.

Why?

I do not know

except that I love you

and lust after your sugar.

Final Rinse

In the washing machine of implosion,

with the bleach of fusion,

our stain on the universe

will come out in the wash.

A Moment of Inspiration

I see pearls upon the floor,

diamonds on the shore,

rubies in your door.

It's a moment of inspiration,

nothing more.

Judge-mental

I reserve judgement

until this bottle of reserve

is unconserved.

Then I'll spew

tear-laced judgements

all over you.

Dad

Ninety years old,

feeling like Godzilla,

firing up his rototiller,

dreaming of a farm

where there's just a desert garden.

His tiller is king

but he doesn't plant a thing.

Before Tea

Before there was me,

and before there was tea,

the breakfast drink was ale or gin.

Bring back baroque breakfast beverages.

Let those good times roll again!

Just Too Far Away

There are other planets like ours,

probably with intelligent life,

but they'll never know us,

and we'll never know them,

because we're just too far away.

Time for Dessert

From the Norse sea

to the Sous sea

I've eaten my way from

fermented fish to pickled pig.

From Feast to Zest

it's time for dessert.

Religion's Last Stand

Fundamentally, it lost its luster.

Religion is just so much bluster.

In light of reason it can't pass muster.

It should have died with General Custer.

I like 'em all, Roland,
The last piece stands out for me, with its powerful message, delivered on the flow of perfect mono-rhyme.
Throw ya in a comma after "Fundamentally," … LOL!

Thanks, My Friend, for the morning entertainment …
it went quite well with toast and hot lapsang! 〜 Richard

Thanks, Mattavelli; that's a beautiful compliment.
Tweetable and also quite likable, Roland! I fondly remember almost all, but surprisingly, not 'Time for Dessert'.
I am happy that you shared them here. You do know why my favourites are The Love Poet's Hesitation and Anticipating A Kiss! :-)
And Just Too Far Away has just become another favourite; makes me feel wistful. Sigh!

A Blossom sigh is second only to a Justa sigh. Thanks!
