are our thoughts irrevelant to the universe or the reason behind it?? Great emotive, interesting piece..the last stanza is especially poignant - isn't that the truth!
oh, but you were never a child, not really, I bet that as an infant you stared past your musical mobile through the window to the moon in all its glory wih the eyes of an old man
Though I disagree with your premise that "our thoughts are irrelevant", this is certainly a thought-provoking piece. While life may often seem futile and pointless, it is our task, our responsibility, and indeed our privilege to make the best of our own circumstances, and of those who are around us. It is only by so doing that our "dreary routine" gains meaning.
And, as I recollect, childhood wasn't so all-fired hot, all things considered. Still just a bunch of people telling us things we don't care to know, and making us do things we don't wish to do. All life, in the final analysis, is an amassing of those "simplest things", then doing the best we can to make a sensible arrangement of them.
And the beauty of such times ey?! The wonderment that everything had a shimmer, the that universe has to grow.....BAM! Where do we stand then lol
As always, excellent love! Concise but raw, love it

When I reach the very young age of 2009 or perhaps 3000 I will think of my past so little and my future more and more, you see I have no intention of turning to dust to be blown by unseen winds and scattered to the four corners where now the horsemen lie...............enjoyed very much :O)
