The Beauty Of The DesertA Poem by RogerhThe desert can be so beautifulAs it starts its rise over the desert floor No person could paint such a picture Though they have tried many times before They could never make a copy perfectly The wind swept sand dunes by man untouched The way the roadrunner races across the desert Could never be captured by a painters brush Jackrabbits hopping over regal scorpions Canyons wind cut over time by sand God’s inimitable creation Land left untouched by modern man The sun paints a beautiful picture in the sky As it starts its slow decent for the night Some creatures go to sleep while some awake The desert at sunset is a uniquely awe inspiring sight It can be such a quiet place but it is not always If you listen in the distance, a coyote’s howl you may hear It is singing its mournful lonesome song to the moon Do not worry you have nothing to fear As the sun hides behind the ridge You can see a tall cactus silhouette Once you see the beauty of the desert It is something you will never forget © 2017 Rogerh |
