You See

You See

A Poem by Rogerh
"

I feel stupid sometimes

"
You See

I am the stupid one you see

I am the one that haunts me

In the past in which I live

Turned my heart into a sieve

You see what you want to see

You look right through me

I am the one underfed

I am the one I have bled

No matter how much I did prink

Now I am gone what do you think?

Now I am gone you see

What was hidden underneath me

Stupid men don't write, dear, and this is deeper than the initial reading and the simple words would suggest. A Brookhaven man...I'm in Biloxi right now jus' waitin' on Nate to get here and do what he's gonna do.
Yes, I was here during Katrina and was fortunate, but not so much friends and relatives. Damn! Those FEMA trailers were a mixed blessing and I'm glad that you only had to stay in one of those for 6 months. FEMA's inaction and mis-actions were a disgraceful slight to Mississippians, and more practical, timely and appropriate aid was supplied by those who were fortunate and faith-based organizations. Pray for us, today, friend, this is our first storm since Katrina and I know there are some people really suffering with their PTSD right now just remembering those first harrowing days.
