Thoughts of People Insane: Jack the Ripper

Thoughts of People Insane: Jack the Ripper

A Poem by The Seeker of Thoughts
"

The thoughts of Jack the Ripper.

"
Cold and dark is the night.
Alone with moon's pale light.
Into shadows I faded.
No particular someone I awaited.
Time passed before one came.
Shake my head at courtesans shame.
Into darkness went her muffled scream.
This was everything I had dreamed.
She is not deflowered,
Instead disemboweled.
Limb from limb rip her apart,
Splatter blood; good art.
Rending flesh; good feeling.
Even better! Life stealing!
Her body shredded lain all about,
All in silence never a shout.
Rabid hands ripped muscle, snapped bone.
Tomorrow, my name is known.
Clean the scene, clear my head,
Woman is dead,  moon is red.
Leave no trail for them to find.
Leave my art, appall the mind.
No more stripper.
Only Jack the Ripper.

Author's Note

The Seeker of Thoughts
Please be as critical as you feel needed. All opinions are welcome and wanted. This was an idea that popped in my head to do a series of Thought of a Man Insane. It would be about the thought of psychopaths, murderers, and other insane peoples. Please let me know if you want more.

You manage to weave in a very sinister atmosphere in this historical piece even though you have used some 'poetic licence' in the tale. Jack The Ripper merely cut throats of prostitutes and carried out abdominal mutilations, removing some organs around London's Whitechapel area, circa 1888.

Beautifully written with a ton of visual suggestion regarding the wicked thing lying deep inside. Most ignore the darkness and it shrinks to fit some of understand and describe it well with some semblance. Nicely written

The entire legend brought to life concisely and well told. Compared to modern serial killers, Jack was not really prolific, maybe not even the first, but the world knows the name. A more chilling thought...what if he wasn't insane.
There is a good deal to like about this horror story.

Thank you for the kind words friend I am glad you enjoyed it.
i teach Jack the Ripper in one of my classes----before i got to the end of this....i was thinking of the legend-----almost like a metaphor for those who
take love from others and dissect it---tear hearts apart---leave the gory wreckage of broken emotions.

Strange how this legend has never ended.
Was it a doctor. Royalty was always mentioned.
Just a madman. Who knows.

I swear you could just write a book of poems. You are so good, even if this is a sinister theme about a mass murderer... Who Cares?! Its that good Everything that I have read is just amazing. Just make it happen I would buy it.

My friend those words mean so much. Thank you and perhaps I will one day.
To all his name was 'Jack'
and he aint coming back - thank f*ck!!

He fancied himself a surgeon methinks and perhaps he was one, once but definitely insane by any standards.
I could see this being recited by storytellers in the old pubs around the time - putting the shites up the clientelle.
