Apart

A Poem by Davi Rodrigues
"

It's been a while since I don't write anything. This one was supposedd to be about something, but then it got all these readings.

"
When we first met I thought you were too much
That you were just too far out of my reach
At first I thought that I would never touch
Your tender hand or hear your tender speech

Then I saw you again, then once again
I felt that you and I could hit it off
Such feeling that was, I cut off my chain
And close to you, my shame I could then doff

And you responded, you gave me a chance
And though you're still so much, I felt enough
Assured, enough assured to prance and dance
Although in fact my proud prance was a scuff

Now Destiny has both of us away
For I have bound'ries I cannot forsake
So I will cling to visions of the day
We spent in closeness, till desire I slake
