Stones

Stones

A Poem by Davi Rodrigues
"

I wanted to write about pain and it became something completely different.

"
A clearance in the woods you'll find
A statue in that place you'll see
It's made of rough stone blocks aligned
And looks like a man, you'll agree

A man that has no life
His face is not like yours
He's never had a strife
No frowns, no cries, no sores

His heart, if he has one
Was never torn apart
His smile won't come undone
A perfect work of art

If only it were real
It'd be the perfect smile
But nothing does he feel
His grin is to beguile

A clearance in the woods you'll find
A statue in that place does lie
It has the looks of human kind
To human life it won't comply

About
I like writing in English, don't know why. Sometimes I think I write better in English than in my own language. Portuguese is not so much my thing. more..
