My SonA Poem by Rodney Ray Hatchell / Unheardsong
My Son
God I ask you to visit my son speak with his heart while he lingers closely to a campfire where ever his travels have taken him . Deep in a forest, down a dirt road or beside a crystal lake. He sleeps under the stars his dreams soar right into your heart. I know him he cherishes all what your hands has created . I’ve seen the sparkle in his eyes as he shares your joy while he watches a bird in flight . I’ve seen the sadness fill his eyes when man brings destruction on the thing you created for him to love. Like a small flower scarcely hidden by a blade of grass that was meant only for his eyes ,a gift of love to him from you. Do you see the spark in his eyes Lord as he watches a firefly dance her way out of sight . How his face glows at the crackling of a camp fire as it burns sending sparks to join the stars in the night. Open his ears so he’ll hear your voice, that he may know all he loves your heart poured out with Love as your creation came to life. Now the night breeze softly blows over his tried body as he sleeps in the mist of nature. By: Rodney Hatchell © 2013 Rodney Ray Hatchell / Unheardsong |
