The Phone Call

The Phone Call

A Story by Rodney Ray Hatchell / Unheardsong

                 The Phone Call

Hi Dad it is so cold here in Denver
high up in the Rocky Mountains.
The skies are so blue and clear.
I even seen doe and  a baby deer.
I know Dad you hate the stuff.
But the Snow so fluffy and white that
the brightness from it hurts my eyes.
We been playing on a frozen lake if
you call falling down playing.
I am still laughing because Kate fell
head first onto the ice.
We made a slay from a pasteboard box
tried to get Nova to pull us over the ice
but her legs keep going in all types
of directions as she slipped and slid.
Then she saw a red tail fox across the way
so she went and tried to play, but it didn’t
want a thing to do with her.
We then decided to climb a rock and
slide down off it.
Wow that was so much fun till my buns
begin to freeze, but it was awesome Dad.
It’s been nice talking to you; I’ll call back
in a day or two to check on you.
I love you bye.
