Hush

My voice becomes quieter

Until you can barely here me

And the world itself has lost all life

 

All sorrows are unheard

In the dark and empty stillness

And all forgiveness is a secret

All love is lost

 

Afraid, I walk the empty streets

And the fog erupts around me

In this all settle, all still

Quite good. I understood this is a description, of a scenario in which the protagonist feels alone, unloved and searching for meaning in the world around her. Sadly, in verse one, we are reminded by the writer, that "the world itself has lost all life". Therefore, is the protagonist quite so out of place - after all?
