Life In A Box

Life In A Box

A Poem by Edgar Perez
"

Going crazy while incarcerated.

"

I am here alone with no one to have a conversation
with but, myself.
To be honest.. Me and I started to disagree,
so I stopped talking.

These walls are getting softer,
while my knuckles become harder.
These floors are getting warmer,
while my feet become colder

Living in a box.

Life from the view no man wishes to have in sight.
And all these people scream so loudly
and make obnoxious noise
until the spirit of reason humbled them to sleep.

I can tell they are starved for ones attention,
the ones that could care less, so careless.
oh well..
mine has been adopted and it feels rather strange..
Spirit of reason left my box
and once again it's just, me and I.

Lights out..

Time to sleep.
