the water is always warm

the water is always warm

A Poem by rockface

i get sadder the more i think
my limits and troubles pushed to the brink
i keep treading but theres no shore
so eventually i have to sink
the waves hit my face
but i deny my eyes the right to blink
my old rusted armor
has not a single chink

the water isnt cold
but im filled to the brim with chills
gliding along on soft blue hills

i see no fins
i think im alone
i float on my back
and then sink like a stone

i breathe in the blue
i ask you to breath it in too
and together we flew
just us two
we sat on the floor
the one with no doors
and asked if our bodies
would be ignored
we sat there waiting
for some light or some heat
until we fell vastly
undeniably asleep
