the tells of the ringing of bells

the tells of the ringing of bells

A Poem by rockface

the gray ground moves under me as i stand still
the gust of wind carries away my will
i spend the day staring at the window sill
the petulant childrens voices so shrill

forced to adhere to a schedule with no goal
a system built within a hole
slowly drains one of whats left of their soul
a life dictated by the ringing of bells

halls and halls surrounded by walls
fear keeps the locks on the doors
keep the children quiet with grades and scores
and you wonder why children fall

when you look around
and see not a single happy face
you wonder whats at the end of this race
why you take the thorns and still keep pace

dedication is taught
for an unknown cause
men with guns arm the halls
people hide from class in dirty bathroom stalls

you can tell it in the faces
no soul can be happy here
people count down the years
people here shed too many tears
i weep and fear for the lives of my peers
