There's something about herA Poem by Roch KetchumThere’s something about her, Which doesn’t let me go, And binds me to her through an eternal bond, Which grows stronger and stronger as we go, A spell put on by her magical wand. There’s something about her, Which makes me love her more and more, As we move together on that path untraveled, Like a drug addict without any cure, I move by her side with a heart completely shattered. There’s something about her, Which still gives me those goosebumps, Every time her hand brushes against mine, She still makes me jump every time, She sings that beautiful hymn. There’s something about her, Which gives me premature ventricular contractions, Every time she sees me, With that porcelain face having enchanting factions, Brown eyes, full lips, soft cheeks, a beautiful she. And as we walk in silence, Our minds clouded, With past probabilities and future possibilities, The realization slowly starts to sink in. And there she stands at the end of the path, Her hair falling down on her face, hiding the pearls which drop onto the ground, I hear a sob and then she waves, Bidding me adieu. As she goes away on the other path, Crushing the dried leaves beneath her feet, Adjusting her bangs, I know finally what it is, What the end result is. It all rises up and flows down my eyes, All the memories, wishes and moments, Washed away in the flood, And I star collecting those scattered broken pieces of my heart. I lost everything to win, Only to lose her all over again. © 2017 Roch KetchumAuthor's Note
